Highly Breathable While preventing moisture from absorbing into building materials, treated surfaces remain highly breathable. ProPERLA’s technology achieves this by lining the pores of surface instead of sealing these pores. This allows water vapour to freely pass through the coating, ensuring moisture will not build up beneath the coating. ProPERLA exterior coatings have an SD value of 0.03, meaning it has very little resistance to water vapour.
Heat Retaining Tests have shown that a damp content of 5% in a plain brick wall can lower the insulation performance by up to 50%. By keeping walls dry, ProPERLA helps to improve thermal efficiency. This is because damp walls act as 'thermal bridges’, transferring heat much quicker than dry walls.
